Well, it's been awhile and I'm sorry. Life sometimes seems to take off and run ahead of me and FAST! I'm so far behind in my blogging, picture publishing & updating and more that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at times. Oh well, I'll simply pick up from here!

Life is good. Cameron just turned 4 and Audrey will be 2 next month. They are wonderful kids and bring joy to our family each and every day. We are expecting baby number three here in November! I'm just now over the shock of it all and learning and accepting the fact that I'll have three kids, two arms. We have basically outnumbered ourselves willingly. My mom had three kids and survived, Chris' parents had four; we can do it! We are excited and can't wait to meet the little one!

Mom is doing well on her second round of chemotherapy treatment. When this month is over, she will have scans and various testing done to see what the tumors are up to and if they are smaller or in the BEST case gone! She keeps most everyone updated of her prognosis and dealings on her caring-bridge website. If you would like to follow her and are not, contact me and I'll let her know.

Thanking our Garbage Men!

Cameron is in LOVE with our garbage men and from the day he could walk and understand they were coming he has stood by the window waving and hoping for a wave and a honk back. These days Cameron dons his boots and runs in a frenzied hurry, to the end of the driveway waiting and waving each Tuesday morning to greet the men and their green machine.

Cameron, being a kind and thoughtful young man, has wanted to bake cookies for the garbage men for quite some time now. So, last week we whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies just for our garbage men. Warm cookies in hand, Cameron stood outside in the pouring rain waiting and jumping up and down with pure excitement! He handed the cookies off and told the garbage men he made them especially for them. They smiled and thanked him with big grins, waves and extra honks!! I'm assuming garbage men don't receive fresh backed, warm, chocolate chip cookies very often. Today Cameron made our garbage men's day AND brought warm fuzzies to my heart and his as well. We could not be more proud of our little man and his BIG heart!!

What a fun time we've had this year! Cameron decided a while back that he wanted to be an airline pilot, so with a little help from a good friend, an Alaska airline pilot himself, we managed to put together the perfect Halloween costume. Once dressed and luggage candy holder in tow, Cameron (very seriously) asks, "Now Mommy, where is my airplane?" So cute! Audrey too had a good time. She dressed up as our favorite neighbor's dog, Captain. She is able to bark like a dog with a small "woof, woof" which of course, makes us all laugh.

On Halloween night, we enjoyed a fine dinner of yummy black bean soup (witches brew) at the Gostin's house and then headed out to trick-or-treat once it got dark. The kids had fun and enjoyed a crisp, dry evening and a full moon to light the way!

Sometimes I wonder where time goes and what I've done in that time. Blogging and other hobbies such as organizing photos and making albums have somehow been put on the back burner. Today I'm back and I will catch you, my dear friends and family, up on our simple lives. The kids are great and growing up fast! Cameron and Audrey just adore one-another and play more and more together as siblings should. Our children are super independent and are always exploring and doing things on there own. Chris is working hard as General Manager at the Silverdale Famous Daves and I'm busy holding down the fort here at home. I take in a few baby sitting jobs here and there and look forward to subbing when I can get my hands on a job (they are far and few between these days). Life is good, busy, but good!

Audrey's 1st Birthday!

It's hard to believe, but our little girl is now 1. She is such a big girl and we often find ourselves amazed at how fast this year has gone by. Audrey is walking better and better each day. She says "hi", "noooo", "bird", "Momma" and "Dadda" and nods her head for "yes". She blows kisses, waves hello and good-buy, smiles upon request and so much more. At her 12 month doctor visit she weighed in at 18 lbs. 11 oz. and measures 30 inches tall. She is still long and lean!

We celebrated her birthday on Sunday with a wonderful group of family and friends. The 18 (yes 18) kids played wonderfully together and ran around our back yard for hours picking wild strawberries and raspberries, playing in the sandbox and in the play house, playing catch and more. What a great time! Audrey enjoyed showing off her walking skills and mingling amongst the guests. She also enjoyed all of her special gifts and clearly Loved, LOved, LOVed, LOVEd, LOVED her specially designed pink angel food cake!

On the 26th Audrey celebrated her 1st birthday. Daddy had to work and her party was not for a couple of days so we decided to take a day trip to Fort Flaggler and spend some quality time at the beach. Grandpa Ron, Omi and cousin Anayah joined us. A few hours of playing on the beach, a picnic supper, a few pieces of sea glass and one agate made for an exceptional day!

Cameron and his cousin Owen celebrated their Birthday's together with a gathering of friends and family this last weekend. We all enjoyed a rather sunny and warm afternoon at the beach! The kids played in the sand, turned over rocks and hunted for crabs (the one with the missing leg is still quite the conversation piece around here), tested out the water, ate hot-dogs and of course cake (Cameron's request this year; a Blueberry Birthday cake), opened presents, climbed on logs and simply enjoyed running around and playing together. We had a wonderful day! Thank you to all who came and for helping us wish our little ones a Happy Birthday!

First school bus ride ever!

Packing up a family of four, hard work. Gas in the car, $30.00. 6 hour drive, long. 2 hour boat ride and $97.00 later, fun. 35 minute school bus ride up the mountain by switch back, exciting. Seeing old friends welcome you to camp, joyful. Spending 3 nights away from it all in a village located in the remote area of the Cascade Mountains above Lake Chelan together as a family, priceless!

Our kids are growing up and getting so BIG! Cameron is now officially in a twin size bed due to having outgrown his toddler bed (he's going to be tall). Thanks to Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Ethan we where able to get our hands on a gently used and free mattress! Cameron and Mommy made a very special trip to the "sheet store" (as he puts it) and bought a lovely "fishy" set. We are constantly amazed at how special new and rather inexpensive items are to a (basically) 3 year old.

And then there is Audrey. She is now drinking water from a straw, sippy cup and doing rather well with it! She likes to hold the cup herself and is surprisingly not too messy with the whole thing. Way to go sweet pea!

Easter is a special Holiday for our family. We take time to remember and thank Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins. We morn His loss and then three days later we CELEBRATE His resurrection!

Cameron enjoyed dying Easter eggs and of course hunting for them too! A great time was spent with both sides of the family again this year. Audrey will soon enjoy the excitement just as much. However, this year she was simply sitting pretty in her dress and loving the plastic eggs!

Cameron just loves his bike ALMOST as much as he LOVES his Grandpa Dennis! He rides it everywhere. However, the other day when we discovered a flat tire his beloved bike was no longer in working condition. Without hesitation, Grandpa Dennis came to the rescue! Cameron, wearing his helmet, shoes and coat for a good two hours, paced the house waiting for Grandpa to pull up with his new tire! If I would have let him he would have had his "real" tools in hand too. Excited Yip-pies and Wooohoos where heard, the familiar wave hello and bounding down the stairs to meet Grandpa followed when he arrived! Together, they replaced the broken tire with a new one and all was well. Both Cameron and Grandpa enjoyed working along side each-other. I'm still not sure who enjoyed it more! Thanks Grandpa Dennis!

"Well, hello sunshine!"

First time EVER pulling herself up to standing and I got it on camera!

Wow, what a day! The weather was amazing and the sunshine was a much needed break from the dreary weather we have been subjected to this winter. We enjoyed working and playing in the back yard as a family. Cameron ran around playing in his sandbox, helping with yard-work, riding his bike and so forth. Audrey played in her pack-n-play and worked very diligently at trying to pull herself up to standing. With cheers and happy encouraging she finally did it! We look forward to many more sunny and warm days ahead as we LOVE and desire more outside days just like today!

First and second tooth both came in just one day apart!

Audrey turned 9 months old today! I'm feeling a bit panicky lately, for I can't seem to stop my baby girl from growing up. Months seem to fly by and this is a bit scary to me. I want to hold on to her tight and not let her go! I want to cuddle her, look into her eyes, rock her to sleep, rest and smile at her while she quietly nurses, dress her in warm, fuzzy tiny little clothes. I want to keep her my baby but I also know in my heart I must let her grow-up.

She is such a doll. Full of energy and excitement for life. Her crawling and exploring find her all over the house. Little bits of fuzz or even a small pine-needle on the floor will entertain her and keep her focused or mesmerize for minutes at a time. She loves to sit on her knees while playing with an object or looking at books. She even pulls herself up onto her knees to peer into a box or as an attempt to pull herself to standing.

Audrey is a happy little girl and enjoys just about everything. While taking walks in the stroller she now sits looking out and enjoys every minute of it. Her happy smile and babble make it known. She has an amazing sense of rhythm and loves to move to music. Her little body will rock back and forth, her head will bob up and down and her feet will kick whenever music is played. She it totally aware and loves it!

Her once gummy smile is now sporting two bottom teeth. Both of them came in one day apart. Cameron figured (and rightly so) that she now needed a tooth brush. So now, thanks to Cameron, she uses a yellow Big-bird tooth brush and just loves it!

Growing up is hard to do (harder for Mommy right now for sure) but Audrey makes it look easy! She is a total delight and a such a good little girl. We LOVE you little sweet pea!

I think if my house were made of screws it would be TOTALLY disassembled by now! While Chris was working in our master bathroom, banging and making lots of ruckus, Cameron was found taking the screws out of the wall this time. I had taken the bathroom mirror and picture down as a safety measure due to the hammering and banging going on on the other side of the wall. Cameron apparently found this as yet another opportunity to "help out"! Again, I asked him to put it back when he was done and of course got the old, "Ok Mommy, no problem". Oh man, what have we done?

Cookies and Milk!

There is nothing like a warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookie dipped in milk! Even though I no longer get to enjoy this wonderful treat myself (due to my allergy-free diet plan) I get to enjoy my children doing so. Today Cameron helped me bake a fresh batch of cookies for which he completely loves doing and devouring just the same once they come out of the oven. I will continue to share the LOVE of baking with my children and with this teach them to enjoy life one sweet treat at a time.

The Low-crawl

Seriously, this is way cleaner than Cameron ever was!

Our sweet baby girl is growing up faster and faster each day. Her bright smile, fun giggle and happy personality make each day with her a total pleasure. Audrey turned 8 months on the 26th of February and due to having two children (napping on different schedules) Mommy has had a difficult time blogging progress reports.

However, today the house is quiet right now and both children are sleeping peacefully AND at the same time! Mommy can blog...

Audrey is now eating a TON of yummy vegetables and fruit. She loves both homemade and store bought varieties. Mommy is enjoying making and freezing food in order to first give Audrey the very best and secondly to save money. Audrey also enjoys "gumming" the old "barley biscuit" now and again. No teeth yet! Mommy and Daddy are both totally amazed at how neat and clean she actually stays while eating a barley biscuit (her brother was a totally different story). We can remember taking Cameron directly from the highchair to the bath!

Audrey is now crawling but at 8 months was only doing the low-crawl. Her ability to get from one place to the other is amazing! Now comes the difficult part, total supervision especially when Cameron is playing near her. Not only do we have to watch out for the usual electrical cords or outlets, items she can pull down onto herself and the like but also small toys parts or pieces. Cameron loves to give her toys and offer her water. We just have to make sure it is safe for her.

Not only is Audrey extremely active but she is also supper happy! She is an extremely easy going and content child. She puts herself to sleep for both naps and bedtime without a fuss (most of the time). She will smile at just about anything and anyone and her laughter is contagious. She loves to say "Da, da, da" and most often says this while bobbing her head back and forth, too cute!

On the 1st of April, she will be weighed and measured. We are totally interested in knowing what the measurements will be. She is now wearing some 12-18 month clothing due to length. She WILL be tall for sure!

Our little girl is not so little anymore and is growing into her own. She is just another star in our universe and a joy to have around. We LOVE you sweet baby doll!

Mr. Fix-it!

While making lunch today, the house got strangely quiet. Just moments ago Cameron was in the kitchen asking for a cheese sandwich and now he is gone. I call out to him. He answers me, telling me that he is "fixing something". Curious, as any parent would be, I go find him. Yes, he is "fixing something". He has a screwdriver in his hands and is unscrewing the screws on the hinge of our bedroom door. He is collecting the screws in his toolbox, all neat and tidy. I tell him what a helpful boy his is. Why am I encouraging this, I don't know. Maybe he just to cute or creative or something. Anyway, I ask my helpful boy to screw the hinge back onto the wall so the door won't fall off. Ever so happily he relies, "Ok Mommy, I'm glad to help you out". Well, now isn't that a relief!

Naked Time!

Well, what can you say. Naked time is naked time! Audrey loves it when the diapers and clothing come off and she is able to kick, roll and romp in nothing but her birthday suite. You should see her move around with such energy and excitement, it's too cute!

Bath Time Together!

Cameron has been asking for days now if Audrey can take a bath with him, "It will be FUN mommy" he says. I can't find the bath seat that I used with Cameron (I'm sure it's lost in the garage somewhere) so I have been putting it off plus Audrey is usually in bed before Cameron even gets into the bath. However, tonight instead of cleaning Audrey up after dinner, I stuck both kids into the tub. Still needing the bath seat, I held her and Chris took pictures. Cameron was extremely excited and so was Audrey! Audrey splashed water with her hands and feet, laughed at Cameron spitting out water and tried to grab hold of toys floating next to her. Cameron liked having a "friend" in the tub with him and enjoyed sharing his toys with his sister. He is so nice to her and loves making her laugh, what a great big brother he is.

Cameron's Bike!

Grandpa Dennis, Grandma Sherrie and Uncle Ken have been searching and looking for a bike for Cameron well before Christmas (they wanted to give him one for Christmas). This Spider-man bike was a free find on Craig's list and Cameron thinks it is just perfect! He and Grandpa Dennis spend a morning together working in the garage, using tools and putting on training wheels. Cameron has quickly learned how to use the bike including steering, breaking and riding up and down hills. He rides his bike almost everyday.

Audrey, our little Audrey is growing up too fast it seems. She is such a delight. We love watching her grow, move, change and accomplish new things each day.

She is currently trying to figure out how to crawl and is constantly working those skinny little legs of hers. However, until crawling is mastered, rolling is the preferred form of mobility. One minute she will be under your feet and the next she will be in the hallway or across the room. Sitting on her own is also still a little challenging but she is getting better at it. Her new cloth Bum Genius diapers help with stabilization due to the extra padding! Audrey has also learned that she does not like rice cereal by itself, I'm not sure why anyone would, it tastes so plain. So, instead of plain rice cereal she is enjoying cereal mixed with yam or sweet potato and is eating it right up (well, not RIGHT up, but close). She has stopped gagging while eating and slowly swallows one tiny bite at a time while chewing on the spoon. We know it is time to stop when she starts blowing raspberries and spits food out at us.

Just this last Sunday Audrey was baptized at church. She was absolutely beautiful and was such a good little girl. She did not cry and instead looked around and took it all in. We, as parents, made a promise to teach her about Jesus and His unconditional love. We promised to show her, by example, how wonderful a relationship with God is and that by having a relationship with Him, nothing is impossible.

While Audrey continues to get "much bigger" (according to Cameron) we simply think she, and Cameron, are the best things to have ever happened to us! We love watching each day how our young babies grow up and become wonderful people. With each new day comes it's experiences, joys, challenges and many memories. We are glad to be here for all of them.

My mom saved this dress of mine for a granddaughter someday. Audrey and I decided to play "dress-up" a few weeks ago and she tried this dress on. It was a little small but I think it is just too cute on her. I just wish I had tried it on her a little sooner. Sweet baby girl of mine!

Audrey's Baptism

Today Audrey Claire Olsen was baptized! What a special and most memorable day for all. Audrey was so beautiful and very easy going the entire time. She did not cry or fuss at all and seemed to rather enjoy all of the attention. We were blessed to have Uncle Marco and Aunt Kacey stand up as Audrey's Godparents. We also enjoyed having our close friends and family members sitting in the audience together witnessing this blessed event.

Yummy homemade soup and salads were enjoyed afterwards at our home. Audrey could not stay awake for most of the reception and instead napped while friends and family enjoyed time together. Thanks to all who came and for celebrating this special day with us.

Our little girl is growing up too fast if I have anything to say about it. Is she sitting up now? Well, yes, sort of. She needs a little support and assistance while trying out this new trick. With a little practice she will be sitting up here on her own in no time I'm sure. ~Jeannette

If you look really closely, you may find her amongst the many toys. Cameron is such a big help around the house and especially likes to help make sure Audrey is happy and apparently well entertained. Tonight he thought it would be good for her to have lots of "chew toys" as he puts it. The two of them laughed and happily played with each other while I whipped up dinner. What a good big brother!

Funny Things...

Kids say and do the funniest things. Just this morning, while hanging up a few clothes in Cameron's closet, I found that he had hung up, ever so carefully, the packaging from his new socks. I had to laugh. He is so cute. So organized. So helpful. The little hangers attached to the packaging are most definitely meant to be hung in the closet where all hangers go, right?

One liners Cameron is saying these days that make me laugh...

~"I need ear-tip (q-tip) for my ear." Why I ask. "I have ear bugger Mommy."

~"Stay right here. Be right back soon."

~"It's dangerous back here." (said while retrieving a ball from behind a pile of blankets)

~"Me Cameron Olsen not baby." (said, crying, while I comforted him after he hurt himself and I referred to him as "oh baby")

Audrey at 6 Months!

Well, our little girl is growing up. Too fast it seems. Audrey turned 6 months old today and is our bright and shinning star. She and her brother trooped though Christmas and the holiday gatherings with great success and happy hearts. Audrey is an incredibly easy going and happy little girl. Her bright smiles, silly coos, loud voice and raspberry blowing make us laugh and interact with her all of the time. She continues to take two naps a day, both about 2 hours long (if we are lucky) and sleeps all night long. Audrey is also very active and is always rolling around from her back to belly and back again. She also enjoys laying on her side. Her newest favorite thing to do is to play with tags, like most babies her age. She will quietly play with a tag for a good half-hour or so (thanks Great Grandma Jean for the tag doll). She continues to be a great nurser and just today experienced rice cereal for the first time. She was not too excited about the cereal and entertained us all quite well while taking her first little bites or small tastes. She will quickly get used to this routine and with hope, become a great little eater like her brother. Both Audrey and Cameron are our little miracles and we would not be the same without them! ~Jeannette and Chris

Hi there family of mine! I want you to know that I'm having a great time here at the Olsen's! Cameron and I have become quite good friends. We play outside in the snow, roll around on the living room floor and he even lets me sit next to him on "my" bed. Cameron is constantly covering me up with my pretty pink blanket. He must think I'm cold or something. At night Chris and Jeannette let me sleep with them on their bed. Their cat Lilly is not so happy about this but they tell me she will be just fine! Well, I must run-along outside for a second. Give everyone a lick and snuggle from me. I miss you and hope you are having a Very Merry Christmas! See you soon.

P.S. Chris keeps telling me that he wants to "keep" me and Cameron thinks that I'm "a good doggie". Should I be worried?

More Snow Fun!

Like most of you, we spent yet another fun filled day playing in the snow. Cameron loves, loves, LOVES to throw snow balls and the all time sledding experience. The snow is even perfect for building our snowman. THIS is the snow I remember as a kid. The kind that found us out of school for a week, the power out, the pond frozen and skate-able, the hill a perfect wonderland for sledding, the woods a magical place for exploring...wonderful memories! Snow Day!

While we did not see as much snow as others around us, we took advantage of what we did get and made the best of it. Cameron & Daddy tried out sledding and found it to be a blast! Cameron enjoyed it over and over again. We are hoping for more snow and possibly a better sled for this upcoming weekend. ~Jeannette

Cameron's Haircut!

Once again while looking at my young, extremely cute, yet scruffy looking little man I think, "boy you need a haircut"! So I pull out the sizers, comb, stool (this time upon his request the decorative suitcase in the living-room) a few crackers (for his munching pleasure) and turn on Miss Spider's Sunny Patch (a favorite cartoon). Placing the suitcase on the floor, Cameron takes his position (so willingly I might add) I begin to cut away on those lovely blonde locks of his. He is fairly good at sitting still and I'm feeling more and more confident to be doing such a thing. I had been taking him in for a cut every 6-8 weeks for the low price of 30 buck-a-rues (not)! As I see it, I should be paying myself at least the same. ~Jeannette

Zoo Lights!

Cameorn, Audrey, Chris and I ate an early dinner, jumped in the car and headed to the Point Defiance Zoo to see Zoo Lights this past week. We had a wonderful time, just the four of us. Walking around at night in a safe non-crowded place with the cold nip in the air was exhilarating. Taking a picture of Cameron smiling was a bit difficult because he was too distracted by all of the lights and fun things to look at. He would pose, say "cheese" and then turn his head just as the camera would snap (I need a faster camera apparently). We also tried to get him to ride the carousal, no luck this year maybe next time. Audrey did well too. She took a short nap in the car on the way to the zoo and then woke-up just in time to enjoy the lights herself. This was a fun night out as a family. We hope that each of you reading this gets to enjoy nights like this with your family too. ~Jeannette

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a fun and busy Thanksgiving this year! Audrey, Mommy, Daddy and I enjoyed two Thanksgivings! That's Two! Wow, can you believe that?

On Thursday Mommy and Daddy packed us all up (including two pumpkin pies and an apple) and headed up North to Mill Creek. We landed at Uncle Roger and Auntie Renee's pad. We had a wonderful time playing with our cousins. We played cars, basketball and I even jumped on their large trampoline outside! Audrey enjoyed visiting with Isa who absolutely, totally LOVES her! So much so that when Audrey is taken away for a minute Isa gets mad...it's funny!

On Saturday we packed up again and headed up North, just passed the Hood Canal bridge to Grandpa Ron and Omi's house (yummy homemade rolls in tow this time). Again, I had a great time playing with my cousins! This time, surprisingly, we all got along and did very well. Sometimes all of us being so close in age is difficult when trying to share toys and attention. However, having Grandpa's large outside play space makes things much easier. We played outside in Grandpa's rock pile, hit the baseball around, went for a walk in the woods and checked out the neat things Grandpa has in his garage and workshop.

I can't wait until Christmas when we all get together again! What fun to look forward to! Enjoy this special time of the year! I'm thinking and praying for snow! Love, Cameron

Audrey's 5 Month Letter

Ok...I'm a bit late in writing this letter, sorry! Life has been busy around the home-front with all of the holidays here upon us. I'm doing very well and growing big and tall. Mommy is trying to use up the last of my size one diapers and this is becoming quite a problem. Every-time I "go" it finds its way down to all 10 little piggies and almost always it's half way up my back too. Mommy must like giving me spontaneous baths or something, crazy I tell ya! I'm also moving on into 6-9 month clothing. My legs are so long that I'm outgrowing everything.

Cameron and I are having a great time playing more and more. He likes to "imitate" me and so we lay on the floor, wiggle around, hold our feet, suck on our fingers and make silly noises and laugh at each other. He is so funny and knows how to make me laugh! He and I also love to play peek-a-boo and other silly face games. I LOVE my big brother!

I've moved from the swing to a really cool seat or exo-saucer as they call it in "baby equipment land". I love to sit in the kitchen, look around and play with the many toys located just in front of me, how convenient. I also enjoy throwing the toys onto the floor and watching Cameron or Mommy or even Daddy pick them up for me and hand them back. This is a great game and if no one picks up the toys right away I just start to talk really, really loudly and someone always hears me and comes running. I love how this works!

Well, I have to run now. Mommy needs to use the computer so that she can order a few Fotki pictures for Christmas. I write again soon. Love and Merry Christmas to you all. Love, Audrey

Fun Times Together!

This morning was just beautiful outside, a little crisp, but beautiful! We bundled up and out we went. Cameron, Audrey and I played soccer while Chris raked leaves (thanks honey)! After a little coaching, Cameron decided to run and jump onto a leaf pile and enjoyed it very much. I love days like this when we all get out and spend quality time together. With Chris' crazy work schedule we have learned to "fit" these types of activities and moments into each day as much as possible. ~Jeannette

Cameron enjoyed carving pumpkins this year and actually got into a bit. However, he was not so willing to scoop out the "guts" with his hands even though we tried to convince him to do so. Too "yucky" I guess! He liked dressing up of course in his handy-man outfit for which he wears almost daily around the house. Trick-or-treating? Well, at first he acted too shy and would not talk to anyone or even accept the candy being offered to him. We did end up going to our church's pumpkin party/carnival and he had a great time! After a bit of warming up, Cameron joined in the games and enjoyed himself. He even took candy and prizes from the kids manning the booths. Audrey at 4 Months Old!

Dear Friends and Family,

Today I turn 4 months old! I went to visit the doctor this morning and had my well-baby check-up and got another set of shots (ouch)! I weighed in at 11 lbs. 12 oz. and I'm 25 inches long. Apparently, I'm going to be "long and lean" as they put it. I checked out well and the doctor was happy with me.

Overall, I'm happy and doing well. I smile all of the time and love to interact with others. I'll coo and talk to most anyone. Mommy says I'm easy going and very content.

I drool like crazy and have recently found my thumb! Yes, I think this is the preferred sucking finder. However, I'm still a little uncoordinated at times and my fists seem to sneak into my mouth more often then the thumb as of yet. Sometimes I even try to suck on my fists while nursing and this drives Mommy nuts. She has to hold my hand to keep it away from my mouth, sorry Mommy!

I'm also currently working on rolling over from my back to belly for which takes an awful lot of hard work and practice. I get stuck on my arm, the darn thing, and end up on my side. I've got rolling over from belly to back down and so tummy time is challenging for Mommy because I don't stay on my belly very long...hee-hee! She is always flipping me back over onto my belly. I don't think she realizes that I would rather be on my back, silly Mommy. She must like this game because we play it often!

Anyway, every night I sleep about 12 hours straight and wake in the morning around 5:30 or 6:00 for a feeding. I usually take 2 naps during the day and find myself sound asleep for the night around 6:00pm. Mommy likes having a little freedom at night to enjoy her dinner and play with Cameron while I'm dreaming away. I'm happy to be so accommodating!

While I'm up and awake, I enjoy playing with my rattles and chew toys and interacting with my brother and laughing at the silly things he does. I also enjoy swinging, front pack and stroller rides and of course rolling around on the floor. Just the other day Cameron was jumping on Mommy and Daddy's bed and singing to me and this had me laughing so hard I actually wet my pants (funny I know). I laughed even harder when he would jump up high and land on his bottom right in front of me and laugh. I'm not so sure why this was so funny, it just was! I guess I'm easily entertained.

Well, I must run now I have to run a few errands with Mommy and Cameron before bedtime. Our afternoons get cut short with such an early bedtime. All my love to you all! ~Audrey

Daddy Feeds Audrey!

Well, tomorrow I go in for a simple (I'm telling myself this so I don't get too nervous) scope test for a look-see at my esophagus and stomach. I've been having continued discomfort and pain in my stomach and they want to find out for sure what is going on. The "reflex" is causing my asthma to act up a bit and we are thinking that this may be the "trigger" for my continued asthma. This is good but frustrating all at the same time! Anyhoo...I've been pumping for the past three days in order to have enough milk for Audrey to consume while the anesthetic gets out of my system after the procedure (apparently they want me to "dump and pump" for 24 hours). This has been a LOT of work!!

Chris gave Audrey a bottle today to "test" her out. We wanted to make sure that she would take the bottle and be ok. She did wonderfully and acted as if nothing was different. I was happy to see this and relieved too. However, it is kind of strange to see your little baby taking a bottle when she has had nothing but boobies! I felt a little jealous of that bottle, strange I know...what can I say?

The best part about this whole thing was watching Chris feed Audrey for the first time ever! They both looked at one another and it was so perfect and sweet! Audrey even reached up and help his hand! Chris never had the opportunity to feed Cameron this way. He and Audrey seemed extremely content and happy! You've got to love the LOVE between a Daddy and his little girl!

Also, note the hair growth on Audrey...yes she is sporting a "crew cut" these days! When will our little girl ever get a good head of hair? If Cameron's hair is a sign of what to come then I have hope!

Wet, Rainy, Sick Days! What To Do?

If you are not sure what to do on a rainy, stuck inside, sick day...look closely at the pictures above! Warning...can make for a rather messy house!

Cameron kept himself busy un-rolling an entire roll of TP and then stringing it all over the kitchen and down the hall (it became a jumping device, car track of some sort and what looks like party streamers). He also enjoyed finding and gathering every last pillow and blanket in the house, lumping them together and then jumping off the ottoman onto them! Later in the day he put his bears to sleep and read books to them (this involved unfolding and removing almost everyone of Audrey's blankets in her closet). Oh...let's not forget fort building! Cameron and Daddy have a fort built downstairs (forget about sitting on the couches) and today while playing in his room, Cameron built one using his bed mattress, toy box (for support) and blankets! Way too cool!

Today I let him and the house go for that matter! He (we) had a blast. I had fun watching Cameron's creativity, activity and tenderness. He is a busy and fun little man!

Audrey? She's not feeling well at all today and spent most of her time in my arms. Her stuffy nose and most likely sore throat is causing her a great amount of grief. However, I was able to capture a few smiles and her newest trick "rolling over" from belly to back!

I hope that you all find fun, messy and memorable ways to spend days like today! Go build a fort, snuggle up inside and read a good book (don't forget the flashlight) it's fun! ~Jeannette

Fall Has Arrived!

Well, it's that time of year again and the GREAT PUMPKIN HARVEST took place at Grandma and Grandpa's. In Grandma's pumpkin patch a good 20 or more good sized pumpkins were to be found, orange and ready for the pick-en! Way to go Grandma!

The pictures show all six cousins or grandkids, depending on, of course, how you look at it! Ezra (4) and Owen (1 1/2), Spencer (4) and Tyler (1), Cameron (2 1/2) and Audrey (3 months).

Audrey's Three Month Letter!

Dear Friends and Family,

Today I turn 3 months old! I feel like such a big girl now. I smile and laugh all of the time and overall I am a very happy girl! I love to drool and suck on my fist as I try to figure out just what finger(s) I want to suck on permanently. Mommy has to change my clothing often because the drool leaves me wet and this is yucky!

I sleep GREAT at night! I also fall to sleep on my own very well! Mommy puts me in my sleep sack (this calms me down like a "lovey" would), nurses me a bit, puts me in the crib, sticks the pacifier in my mouth and strokes the top of my nose. This routine relaxes me and I close my eyes and fall fast asleep! I've been sleeping about 6-7 hours and then waking for a quick snack and then I fall back to sleep for another 4-5 hours. Mommy and Daddy like this routine and appreciate how well I go to sleep.

I'm almost able to roll over onto my tummy! I get as far as my side and stop. I work really hard at this during the day. While kicking my legs, swinging my arms and moving my hips I find myself doing 360's on the floor or in my crib. Mommy puts me down and away I go in circles! I also get a little "tummy time" each day and work on my back and neck muscles...ohhh soooo strong am I!

Pretty soon I will be able to interact with my big brother more. At this time I can only smile, drool and laugh at him. Cameron and I have a great relationship! He kisses and hugs me almost all day long and I can't wait to give him kisses and hugs right back! We are working on our secret handshake which includes "high fives", "knuckle knocks" and the popular "elbow knock"!

Well, I must go now. Cameron needs me to play with him outside for a bit and soon it will be lunch time. I will write again soon.

Zucchini Bread

Well, today the kids were a little under the weather with stuffy/runny noses and simply a little "off their rockers" as I like to put it and so it was yet another stay inside, take it easy, lazy day! While Cameron played with his cars and Audrey took a little snooze I begin a marathon baking session. The goal: make as many loaves of zucchini bread as I could! Cameron soon joined me and we were off! This time around, however, we froze the bread for later and Cameron kept his little fingers off "Mommy's Bread"!!

My goal was reached too! We made 6 loaves of bread and they all made it to the freezer except for one loaf for which we all had to try warm and fresh from the oven!

For all of you that have asked for this yummy recipe, ENJOY!

Zucchini Bread

3 eggs

1 Cup oil

2 Cups sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

2 Cups shredded zucchini

1 (8 1/2 oz) can crushed pineapple (juice and all)

3 Cups flour

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp. soda

1 tsp. salt

3/4 tsp. baking powder

3/4 tsp. nutmeg

1 Cup raisins

1 cup chocolate chips

Beat eggs. Add oil, sugar and vanilla and stir together until thick. Mix in zucchini and pineapple. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowel and then add to wet ingredients and stir until blended. Add raisins and chocolate chips.

Bake in 2 greased and floured bread pans @ 350 for 1 hour.

Mommy's Bread!

Well, the thought of baking zucchini bread and freezing it did not last long last night. Cameron and Daddy where doing a little plumbing job on the bathroom sink while Mommy was out picking blackberries when Cameron quietly disappeared for a while. When found, he was "cutting Mommy's bread"! Yumm, warm chocolate chip, pineapple zucchini bread! Anyone up for a "chunk" of bread? I can no longer offer a clean slice! Audrey's Letter!

Dear friends and family,

Today I am two months old and quite the big girl. I went to see Dr. Hammer this morning with Mommy. I weighed in at 9 lbs. 10 oz. and I am 22 inches long. I grew 3 inches in two months, wow!! They measured me twice just to double check. Dr. Hammer says I will be a tall girl and that I should start practicing basketball ("hoops" as Cameron puts it). Dr. Hammer says that I am beautiful, healthy and doing wonderfully! Now about that nurse! She was not so nice with all of those shots coming at me! I did NOT like having three, yes, THREE needles stuck into my legs. Pain, not so good! Mommy helped me feel better with a little "boobie" and I quickly fell fast alseep and took a long nap.

As for being two months old, it is a wonderful thing! I smile a ton at just about anyone and I love to babble with those who will listen. I like to exercise and spend a great deal of time kicking my legs and swinging my arms around as if I were doing aerobics! I'm awake for long periods during the day and when I get tired I take good naps (about 3-4 hours or so). I've always slept well at night and continue to do so today. I put myself to sleep anytime between 8 and 9pm and then wake for feeding about 3 times a night. I always go right back to sleep so that Mommy can go back to sleep herself!

I have to admit though, that I have not been all that easy. I have been a little cranky at night from about 3-8pm. I cry a lot and nothing really makes me feel better because my tummy hurts. Mommy and Daddy give me gas drops, bounce with me on the large ball, hold me tight and walk the floors. I'm beginning to feel better these last few weeks and life is easier for us all. Mommy says that my problem begins with the fact that I'm an every 5-6 day pooper. Three days ago I pooped for the first time in 5 days and I made a HUGE mess. Oppps! Let's just say that I was covered from neck to toes! Yuck!

Let's see, what else? Oh, I LOVE my brother Cameron! He is so great! He gives me lots of kisses and helps put my pacifier back into my mouth when it falls out. He turns on music for me and helps Mommy and Daddy with diaper and clothing changes. He even tries to help me feel better when I'm crying by telling me that it's "Ok" and to "Shhh" and by rubbing the top of my head ever so softly. He cares so much! However, the other day when he threw the book at me because I was nursing and Mommy was NOT paying attention to him like he wanted...not so good! I'm sure there will be more "jealousy" issues to come but in the mean time I know he does love me but just wants his share of "Mommy time" too! Back away big brother of mine, we have to share our Mommy and Daddy!!

Well, I must go. I'm getting sleepy and need to take a nap for this growing up stuff is hard work! I will write again soon when I can. I love you all! ~Audrey

Camping at Fort Flagler!

What a trip! Audrey and Cameron had such a great time on our yearly family camping trip to Fort Flagler. The weather was great and the kids did wonderfully! Cameron played hard! He road bikes (a lot), threw rocks and played in the water, dug in the sand and helped look for agets, climbed around in the old bunkers, and roasted marshmallows. He followed his older cousins around and tried his best to keep up with them. He really enjoyed playing and talking with grandpa and watching "Grandpa magic" in action! Audrey was a good little girl too! She chilled out in the tent, road around in the front pack while mommy attempted "mid-air refueling" (nursing while on the go) and kept her parents very busy.

Camping sure is different with kids! We don't find ourselves rested or totally relaxed as in the past. However, we would not change a thing! Our children are our lives and we love them completely! We are making memories and growing together as a family and this is truly special. Our children will remember these trips with fondest memories and hopefully continue these traditions on with their own families someday.

My Joy!

The past few weeks have been full of great joy and heavy burdens. My emotions are raw. Along with taking care of our beautiful baby girl and absolutely wonderful son I have been struggling with not feeling well (a little postpartum anxiety, stomach issues and an increase in my asthma). Also, my mom was just diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumor) and now faces surgery. Let's just say the last few weeks have not been easy but I do rest in knowing that God will make things well in His time!

My Joy's these days have been in watching Cameron grow into such a big brother and loving son. He is becoming an independent and very caring little man. Audrey is One Month Old Today!

Today I turn one month old! Mommy and Daddy gave me my first real bath as a way to celebrate! My belly button plug fell out a few days ago (not sure where it went, it was just gone...eek) and now I get to take a bath like a big girl rather than those silly sponge baths I've been getting. I liked my bath because the water was nice and warm and the baby soap smelled so nice! I feel and smell so pretty now! ~Audrey

Don't you just love the shoes and sweater? My Great Aunt Nancy made these many years ago while learning how to crotchet back in Junior High School. She gave them to me at my baby shower and I just love them! I love that she saved them for just for me! My shoe collection begins! ~Audrey

Yard Maintenance Crew Member!

I know the boots are a bit much but you have to protect your feet when cutting up trees in the yard! I had a blast helping Mommy and Daddy cut down and trim trees in the front yard while trying to clean things up a bit. As part of their yard maintenance crew, I was allowed to use real cutting sheers to cut off tree limbs once the trees were down. They did not work very well though, I think something was wrong with them (dull, old, rusty?). We must purchase new ones AND Mommy needs to stop leaving yard tools outside in the yard where they get ruined! ~Cameron

Audrey~Two Weeks Old!

Audrey is two weeks old today and I still like her, amazingly enough! She has cute toes, a funny face when she sucks that pacifier thingy, five fingers that hold my one, poopy diapers that I get to help change (I give Mommy the wipes), blankets that need to be fetched and much more...man babies are a lot of work when I think about it! Anyway, Mommy is doing fine. She takes naps with us both during the day (I like this) and is getting some sleep at night because Audrey is a good sleeper! Gotta run...I hear her now (she does have a good loud cry) I must find that pacifier for Mommy! ~Cameron

The 4th of July!

This day was fun and full of lots of activity for all! Mommy kept busy (maybe too busy) watching me and taking care of Audrey. She had lots of help though, and was able to sit down for a while and rest (thanks to Grandma Becky, Grandma Sherrie, Aunt Becky, Ruthy and others I'm sure!).We missed Daddy, he had to work! By the end of the day Mommy was VERY tired and so was I! We got to play, eat lots of yummy food and enjoy friends and family! Grandma Sherrie's yard was perfect for running and playing and was as beautiful as always! We watched fireworks for a while until I got a little scared and had to go inside. Mommy called it quits and we headed home. What a perfect day it was! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! ~Cameron

Audrey is ONE week old today and doing wonderfully! Her and her BIG brother are bonding well and getting along just fine. Cameron is adjusting and seems to like his sister. He showers her with a ton of kisses on the head, a hug here and there and often he asks to hold her. Mommy and Daddy are adjusting well too. Life is DIFFERENT, but GOOD!! We are very blessed and thankful for all that we have! GOD is GOOD!!! ~Jeannette
